Myotherapy Association Australia is Australia's only association dedicated solely to myotherapy and myotherapists. In addition to a range of benefits, Myotherapy Association Australia membership (practicing categories only) incorporates $20 million public liability and $20 million professional indemnity insurance as part of the membership fee.
Full MA membership is available to anyone with the following qualifications:
• BHSc (Clinical Myotherapy)
• BHSc (Myotherapy), previously known as BHSc (Musculoskeletal Therapy)
• AdvDip (Myotherapy)
Full membership is suitable for anyone practicing Myotherapy in Australia. Full members are eligible for health fund provider status with all health funds. Full membership includes $20 Million Professional Indemnity/Public liability insurance in the membership fee.
Getting started in a new profession requires as much assistance as possible. New Graduates (within 12 months of graduation) from the following qualifications are eligible to join Myotherapy Association Australia at a reduced fee. Graduate membership includes $20 Million Professional Indemnity/Public liability insurance in the membership fee.
• BHSc (Clinical Myotherapy)
• BHSc (Myotherapy)
• AdvDip (Myotherapy)
This membership is available to graduates of the DipRM who have enrolled in a recognised Myotherapy qualification. Individuals that have completed the DipRM (HLT52015 or HLT50307) and enrolled in the BHSc (Clinical Myotherapy), BHSc(Myotherapy) or AdvDip (Myotherapy) are eligible to join as an Interim members and in doing so receive RM provider status. This enables them to receive health fund recognition via the RM classification whilst working as a student myotherapist. Interim membership can only be held for a total of two years. Interim members must be enrolled in a recognised myotherapy program for their membership to be valid OR complete a Statutory Declaration declaring intent to enrol within 12 months. Interim membership includes $20 Million Professional Indemnity/Public liability insurance in the membership fee.
Student Membership provides an opportunity for students to experience many of the benefits of Myotherapy Association Australia whilst studying. Best of all Student Membership is free. To be eligible for student membership you must be enrolled in one of the following qualifications:
• BHSc (Clinical Myotherapy)
• BHSc (Myotherapy)
• AdvDip (Myotherapy)
Affiliate membership is available to myotherapists who are not practicing and to other health professionals who wish to maintain a connection with Myotherapy Association Australia and with the Myotherapy profession.
